The same researchers at the University of Texas also discovered that those athletes who drank chocolate milk regularly after their workouts saw better increases in both and speed and power (in whatever sports they were involved in) than their counterparts who drank traditional energy drinks that contained only carbohydrates.

People often think that if drinking chocolate milk after a workout is a good thing, then drinking regular milk after a workout must also be a good thing. Perhaps surprisingly, regular milk is not as good of a recovery drink as chocolate milk because it lacks the extra sugars (carbohydrates) which usher the protein into your muscle.
